Street Kids Care: Changing lives since 2006.
Street Kids Care Set to be Inducted into Indiana NSA Hall of Fame
by TJ Jorgensen
11/6/2012- After seven years of changing the lives in the world around us, Street Kids Care will be inducted into the Indiana National Softball Associatio Hall of Fame.
Street Kids Care - the outreach program for charitable endeavors for the Street Kids Softball team - was founded in 2006 by myself and my wife Courtney, but nothing could have been possible if it were not for the support and tireless efforts of so many current and former Street Kids players.
No one that has ever slipped on the Street Kids jersey or a Street Kids Care t-shirt has ever done so and asked "what's in it for me?" It has always been about the cause, and about inspiring others. From walking for breast cancer awareness, to feeding the homeless to spending the day with a young cancer patient, Street Kids Care has been all about others first.
On Saturday, November 10th at 5pm in Warsaw, Indiana, the Indiana NSA Hall of Fame will induct Street Kids Care for their original and innovative way of combining both the sport of slow pitch softball with the efforts of making a difference in the communities in which we work and live. While we do not do these things for personal gain or self attraction, we are pleased and humbled with the opportunity to be heading into the Hall of Fame. This continues to push our creed even more higher: Street Kids Care is not just about making a difference in the community... It's about inspiring others to want to make a difference as well.
I want to thank Jim Kimmel, Mike Hagy and the rest of the staff and members of the Northern Indiana NSA as well as those on the Hall of Fame committee for this opportunity. With this honor comes even more responsibility for us to continue to push our efforts to help change the world around us.
